JOB
Summary:
We have an excellent opportunity for a CDL Class A Driver with HAZMAT endorsements at our Grandville, MI facility.
This position will provide customer route delivery of high-pressure and liquid cylinders and assist loading/unloading of trucks and pallets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
o Pull product per customer orders o Build pallets and load trucks for daily deliveries to customers o Deliver high-pressure and liquid cylinders to customers.
o Assist loading/unloading of trucks and pallets.
o Complete daily trip reports and DOT paperwork o Flexible to work overtime as required.
QualificationsQualifications EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
o High school diploma or general education degree (GED) o Prior route sales experience a plus.
o Experience working with welding hard goods and gases is a plus.
o Working knowledge of the industrial gas business, welding products, highly desirable COMPUTER SKILLS:
o Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) SAP experience is a plus.
COMMUNICATION and/or CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS:
o Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers.
o Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language.
o Detail oriented with good writing skills to complete handwritten compliance documentation accurately and neatly o Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
o Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
o Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent's.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
o Valid Class A Driver's License with Hazmat certification and 2 years verifiable experience and must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by regulation for drivers.
o No major driving violations o Fork lift license a plus PHYSICAL ABILITY:
o Must be able to work outdoors in various degrees of temperatures.
o While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, and bend, use hands and arms while servicing Route Customers.
o The associate is required to sit while driving the company vehicle.
o The associate must regularly lift and move more than 60 pounds; required to push and pull liquid containers weighing up to 800 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
o Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant and color vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
o The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
